Fields Open, the second match of the year. As expected, I didn’t make the qualifying round, but it gave me a good idea of where I stand and what I need to do. The first day was shabby golf and bogies one after the other, but on the second day, I was able to come through with more tenacity, looking more like I should in a competition.
After playing this second match in Hawaii, I was made keenly aware of the fact that I am not ready for tournament level golf, and at the same time, I couldn’t get over that my practice just isn’t cutting it. There is nothing on the schedule next week. After that is the MasterCard Classic in Mexico. Probably not likely that too much is going to change in a week, but I intend to prepare as much as I can.
For my dad, who was my caddy, it’s just another of many memories for him, but I’m glad to have one more good memory of family times. Thanks for everything, dad!
