I've got to make it to write just my feelings about what has been going on each day!! "Private Diary": I do not know why, but I feel a little uneasy about until when it will last. Riko Higashio

The Ginn OPEN was held in Orlando, Florida last week. My alma mater is in the same state.
First of all, getting ready for the trip. I picked up stuff for emergencies and to hold me over during rounds at the Japanese supermarket in San Diego. Then I put one day’s worth of golf wear, pajamas, cosmetics, and other absolute necessities in my carry on bag just in case my suitcase came a day late again.
My former university is about 2 hours from Orlando, so I didn’t get to go there during the tournament, but I did have a reunion with my golf team from last year instead. It ended up being just three of us, one who lives nearby, one working for tournament related media, and myself, and the time absolutely flew by while we were getting caught up with each other. We parted saying we hoped that more of us could get together next year.
The main thing is the tournament, where I had my coach come to watch me play. The plan was to have him watch what I was doing to give me advice for when I practice later, because oftentimes there are things we can do well in practice that we can’t on the course or in a tournament, but we don’t notice what they are.
Mmm…my swing. When I watch myself on video I can see it’s getting a lot better. But, it feels quite different than it has up to now. I’ve got the backswing down ok, but I don’t have the feel for the most important part of the downswing yet. I started working on improving my swing with the intention of moving up a rank. It’s turning out to be just like the operation on my shoulder- taking more time than I thought it would- but I won’t stop working at it until I’ve got it down pat.
We have a week off again this week. After this break’s over, it’s going to be one match after another, so this week is all about fine tuning my game. I’ve just gotta envision in my mind where I want the ball to go when I hit it. Practice, practice!
