I've got to make it to write just my feelings about what has been going on each day!! "Private Diary": I do not know why, but I feel a little uneasy about until when it will last.  Riko Higashio

April 25.2007 Wednesday

Today’s the first time to open my suitcase in two days. This week it’s the Morelia (Corona Championship) in Mexico. Two years ago when I came here, my suitcase was a day late, I got food poisoning, and obviously didn’t have a good impression of the place, but my friends at the LPGA told me that the food improved and the planes were safe, so I figured I’d give it a try again…

First of all, getting ready for the trip. I picked up stuff for emergencies and to hold me over during rounds at the Japanese supermarket in San Diego. Then I put one day’s worth of golf wear, pajamas, cosmetics, and other absolute necessities in my carry on bag just in case my suitcase came a day late again.

And as stipulated by Murphy’s Law, I arrived…my suitcase didn’t. You would have thought I was prepared to patiently wait out a day, but my suitcase still hadn’t come by nightfall. I had somewhat of a bad feeling about it, and came back from practice and scrubbed my clothes. I don’t know if my hunch being right was a good or bad thing, but my stuff didn’t arrive until today (Wednesday), in the afternoon of course. It’s been a full two days since I’ve seen my things.

Well, I guess this kind of thing is unthinkable in Japan, but when you’re on an LPGA tour, a lot of people with a lot of luggage moving around all together on small planes or chartered flights, it happens every time. I’m getting used to it after happening two or three times a year. Still, I’ve got to admit that I feel a lot better when I have my favorite things close by my side.

Anyway, as for golf. Practice went pretty well today. I was able to put together my recently revamped swing with my old feel for the game, and hope I can utilize that on the course and during the game. Hey, tomorrow’s going to be an early one, I’m turning in.
