This week is at Tulsa (SemGroup Championship). My golf clubs arrived later than the rest of my stuff coming in from Mexico, but everything worked out schedule-wise. Last week in Mexico I couldn’t get my hands on any “watery” food, like salad or fruit, so the first thing I had was a salad. Being able to eat what I want, take a walk without worrying about my safety, drive a car, and all the little things made me realize the impact on body and mind when those things we take for granted are taken away.
It’s rained every day since I got here. It rains wherever the LPGA goes. It’s unbelievable. When the competition was in ‘Vegas, where they say it only rains 7 days out of the year, the LPGA got 3 days of rain out of the full week, it’s that bad. We always joke among ourselves, we should advertise- any place suffering from a drought, all they need to do is hold an LPGA match! A lot of the time, rain in the States means thunderstorms, but this week has been more of a gentle drizzle. It reminds me of the rainy season in early summer in Japan.
And golf. My driver is mortally wounded, this week I’ve been trying out my old one and checking out new ones, but even though I think I’ll probably keep using this one, I wanna change my image. Another thing, I know I’ve been thinking about things too much, so I’m going to keep it simple and focus only on where I want to finish. That’s all from me doing my best in the rain!
