I've got to make it to write just my feelings about what has been going on each day!! "Private Diary": I do not know why, but I feel a little uneasy about until when it will last. Riko Higashio

The second day at St. Andrews. There was a big difference in scores between the morning and afternoon groups. I was with Ai’s group again today. Her game wasn’t as unbelievably good as it was yesterday. Sometimes that just the way it goes, but she had some shots that went off to the right which was unusual for her, then she’d try to compensate to the left, making it difficult to get in position to try for a birdie, and it was a tough day on the putting green.
There were a few 2-3 meter shots for par that she couldn’t sink, and she ended up with 8 bogies and one birdie. It was like there were two completely different people playing yesterday and today. It made me think this is the kind of thing that makes St. Andrews a tough course. And I think probably one of the big reasons for Yuri Fudoh and Miki Saiki’s going under par this morning was the calm wind. Granted, you have to play a good game though. 4 out of 6 Japanese made it through the preliminary round. I hope they do well on the weekend, too.
Image: The most notorious bunker in the game of golf, known as “The Road Hole” until it did in Tommy Nakajima in the first round of the 1978 British Open, taking Tsuneyuki Nakajima 5 strokes to escape, also dubbed “Tommy’s Bunker”. (It’s supposed to have gotten bigger and shallower since then) I tried to get out by going forward, but couldn’t, so I had to take it out from the left.
